The Right Franchise

Finding the right franchise is a process, not a browse.

Taking the leap into business ownership is a personal and important decision, and sometimes a difficult one. You will work directly with me through four steps designed to match a franchise to your experience, your skills, and your goals, and to test that match properly before you commit.

The process has a lot in common with working with an executive recruiter on a career move: the same care in understanding the person, the same discipline in matching. The difference is the outcome. Instead of a new job, you end up owning the business.

1

Getting to Know You

We start with a conversation about you: your background and career, the skills you have built, and what has brought you to consider business ownership now. Just as important is what you want ownership to give you, whether that is income, flexibility, a business your family can be part of, or a legacy to build on.

There is no pitch in this step. It is about understanding the person the business has to work for.

2

An In-Depth Consultation

Next we look at the practical side in detail: the capital you can invest comfortably, the territory you want to operate in, the hours you are prepared to work, and the income the business needs to produce. We also talk honestly about risk, timelines, and what would make a franchise a poor fit for you.

Together, these two conversations become your buyer profile, the standard every opportunity is measured against from here on.

3

Selecting Your Franchise

With your profile in hand, I research the franchise brands available through the IFPG network and build a shortlist of the ones that match: your skills, your investment range, your territory, and your goals. I will explain the reasoning behind each introduction, including where I see weaknesses as well as strengths.

Then I connect you with the franchisors, so you can hear the opportunity described by the people who run it, and start forming your own view.

4

Conducting Research and Due Diligence

The final step is where good decisions are made. We work through the franchise disclosure documents together, examine the numbers, and speak with existing franchise owners about their real experience: what the work is like, what the franchisor's support is actually worth, and what they wish they had known at the start.

My job in this step is to keep the process honest and unhurried. Sometimes the research confirms the choice. Sometimes it shows the business is not what it appeared to be, and the right decision is to step back. Either way, you will be deciding on evidence, and the decision is always yours.

Step one is a conversation

Book a consultation and we will talk through where you are and what you are considering. If franchise ownership is not the right path, you will hear that from me too.
