Phil Doublet, CFC
Phil founded an IT consultancy in Calgary and ran it for ten years, growing it to seven figures before selling it. He then acquired an aluminum fabrication company, ran it for eleven years, grew it to seven figures as well, and sold that business too. Two decades of his career were spent hiring, borrowing, building, and answering for the results, the same position the people he now advises are preparing to step into.
Today, from Victoria, Phil advises business owners on growing profit and on planning their exits. Franchise Consulting Canada is the other side of that work: helping people who are buying in, rather than selling out, to choose well. He works mainly with people leaving corporate, government, and military careers who want their experience and their savings in a business of their own.
His view of franchise consulting is simple. The franchisor's job is to present its concept well. The buyer's advisor has a different job: to test the concept against the buyer's skills, capital, and goals, and to say plainly when the fit is not there.

How working together begins
Everything starts with a consultation, booked at a time that suits you. We will talk about your background, what you are considering, and whether franchise ownership fits your plans at all. From there, the four-step matching process takes over.
A note on how I am paid. There is no charge to you for this service. I am compensated by the franchisor if you proceed with a franchise we find together. That arrangement never changes the advice you get: my work is to help you find a business that fits, and that includes telling you when one does not.
